Nyhus is so excited to welcome our newest intern, Kaylah Meikle! Read on to learn more about this Florida native and DIY furniture expert.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST IN YOUR NEW POSITION?
As someone who’s new to the Public Relations world, I’m looking most forward to observing and participating in the work that goes into creating impactful campaigns for clients as well as sharpening the hard skills needed to do so.
WHAT’S THE BEST PART ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB SO FAR?
Getting the know that team! Everyone has been so welcoming and it’s apparent that Nyhus aims to foster a learning environment that provides opportunities for me to grow and ask questions along the way.
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST CAREER MOMENT?
During my college years, I had the pleasure of working a few nonprofit organizations. My proudest moment was by far the result of the work I did with an organization called Peace Jam. As their Development Chair, I was able to raise enough money to provide scholarships to students who couldn’t afford the cost to attend our annual conference so that they had had the chance to attend the following year.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Overall, I’m always looking for new ways be creative. Whether that means trying a new recipe or revamping old furniture pieces found at The Goodwill. Trying new methods and mediums to express myself keeps things interesting; however, I find that I always come back to painting with acrylics so I would say that that’s what I enjoy the most.
WHAT’S ONE THING ABOUT YOU THAT WOULD SURPRISE ME?
I share a birthday with both my mom and my aunt! It definitely makes the day easy for our family to remember.
